Fr. Elias gives the third talk at the Fall 2014 Marian Day of Reflection held on Saturday, December 6, 2014. The overall theme for the day is the Immaculate Conception and its meaning. In this third talk Father focuses on our response to God once we know the doctrine. He first emphasizes again the importance of the Immaculate Conception and how this relates to Mary’s role as our Advocate.

Elias preaches on the need to ask this saint’s intercession for the curing of physical ailments of the throat as is done so commonly on this day. But, he makes the further connection that it is not just physical, but spiritual ailments of the throat that we must beware of, in the words that we utter from our throats. These can do us far more harm, so let us ask St. Blaise’s intercession for the grace to use our healthy throats to give honor to God.
