Ave Maria!
"Do whatever He tells you." This feast of Our Lady of Good Counsel is celebrated today in the mother-house of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate in Frigento, Italy. In this homily, Fr. Elias shares the story of the miraculous finding of a 3rd century icon & touches on the meaning of true devotion to Our Lady, whose counsel is immaculate & whose person is full of grace. Ave Maria!
In Our Lady’s Chapel in New Bedford, Massachusetts, to the immediate left as you are facing the altar, is a statute of Our Lady holding what appears to be a version of the Infant of Prague (the infant is holding the world with a cross on top). Does anyone know the history of this madonna?
This is the image of Our Lady, Queen of the Seraphic Order, and it is under that title that the friary in New bedford is placed.
AVE MARIA!
DEAR MILU, GREETINGS IN JESUS AND MARY! THAT STATUE IS THE IMAGE OF OUR LADY, QUEEN OF THE SERAPHIC ORDER, WHICH IS THE TITLE OF OUR LADY THAT THE FRIARY AND CHAPEL IN NEW BEDFORD IS NAMED AFTER. THAT IMAGE WAS ESPECIALLY CREATED FOR THE FRIARS WHEN THEY TOOK OVER THE CHAPEL IN 1992. I HOPE THAT THIS IS OF HELP TO YOU. AVE MARIA! FATHER ELIAS
