Today's Gospel offers a wonderful meditation on the role of the Catholic Church in the world. The Church casts its net to catch souls, yet without Christ's grace & guidance it can do nothing. Christ is the only hope of the world, & the Church is His only vehicle for salvation. Fr. Elias further reflects on St. Augustine's two-fold commentary of Christ at one time fishing in the boat with the disciples & here standing on the shore guiding, as it were, their mission for food & for souls.
