One Minute Meditation

ROSARY FOR PRIESTS
John Cardinal Carberry
IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER, AND OF THE SON, AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. AMEN.
Dear Jesus, how can we ever properly thank You for our priests? They have given up everything for us, forsaking the world to nourish our souls with the Eucharist and to heal our wounds through holy confession
End forth Your Holy Spirit right now, in a flood-nay-a supernatural torrent of grace in swift and sure answer to this plea, bringing consolations and courage and purity and joy to our beloved priests. As only You can do, whisper into their hearts that we love them so. As only You can do, enwrap each man wearing a cassock and collar (and habit) in the loving maternal arms of Your Mother who wept with You and stayed with You during Your hours of suffering during Your crucifixion.
We ask this in Your Holy Name, the Name above all names: Jesus! Amen.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Prayer for Priests to be said after every decade of the rosary , after the Fatima prayer:
God, our Father, please send us holy priests, all for the Sacred and Eucharistic Heart of Jesus, all for the sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, all in union with Saint Joseph.

Got to hand it to those Presbyterians. Notice that last remark about shoes and shirts. I grew up in California. Makes perfect sense.

My posting this is a bit ironic, since the alarm on my phone went off this morning during Lauds and instead of turning the alarm off I hit snooze, so it went off again an minute later. Bad friar.
Hat tip to Brian.

Mary is the Mother of the penitent Sinner.
STORY
A noble youth named Eskil was sent by the prince, his father, to Hildensheim, a city of Saxony, to study; but he gave himself up to a disorderly life. He afterwards fell so dangerously ill that he received Extreme Unction. While in this state he had a vision: he found himself shut up in a fiery furnace, and believed himself already in hell (more…)

Breakthrough Study: Learning to Say “No” to yourself is a key to success.

I guess child psychology has come around full swing. On second though, perhaps, not quite. We have not gotten around to identifying certain choices as “bad” yet. What is the word? O yes, “inappropriate.”
Catholics used to call this “mortification,” which is a sound psychological habit elevated by grace and supernatural motivation. But we guilty Catholics, what do we know?
The new apologists would tell us that God is like a marshmallow.

Ave Maria!
Pierluigi Molla is the son of Saint Gianna Molla who died in 1962 after giving birth to his little sister. St. Gianna developed a fibroma in her uterus during the second month of her pregnancy which required immediate surgery to save her, but since it would certainly terminate her pregnancy she put it off to save her child. Despite the best efforts of the doctors they could not save the heroic mother.
Pierluigi came to Our Lady of Guadalupe Shrine in La Crosse, WI to give a pro-life talk on the first anniversary of the opening of the Shrine. While he was there he graciously consented to an interview with Fr. Peter, the rector of the shrine, and shares his memories of his mother and his thoughts on what her life gave witness to.

Padre Pio’s Prayer After Holy Communion
Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget You;
You know how easily I abandon You.
Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and I need Your strength,
that I may not fall so often.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life and without You I am without fervor.
Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light and without You I am in darkness.
Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will.
Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice and follow You.
Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You very much and alway be in Your company.
Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.

Homily #090922 ( 11min) Play – Today’s Gospel is used by Protestants and Catholics alike to support the idea that Marian devotion should be minimized. Fr. Angelo counters that this is not the correct interpretation and the early Christians thought that way.
