Jesus makes it abundantly clear that salvation is to be found in him. In today's Gospel, he tells the Pharisees: "If you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins" (Jn 8:28). There is no way around this truth: "No one comes to the Father, but by me" (Jn 14:6).
