Feb 10 – St. Maximilian – Prepare for Suffering

By February 10, 2008April 30th, 2008Fr. Ignatius Manfredonia, St. Maximilian Daily

Ave Maria!

“The authentic joy that you experienced on the day of your religious investiture is not the essence of perfection. You must be prepared for periods of obscurity, of anguish, of uncertainty, of anxiety, of temptation sometimes very, very persistent, of suffering both of body and of soul – which is a hundred times more difficult. In fact, if there were nothing to suffer, for what then would you go to Heaven? Without the fight, the victory would be impossible and, without the victory, there can be no crown, there can be no recompense (cf. 1 Cor 9:25). Therefore, from now on, be prepared for everything!” (SK #149)
