Saint Bonaventure tells us that the stigmatization of Saint Francis was a most extraordinary miracle. Since the time of Saint Paul no man had ever received this privilege that is in the period of twelve hundred years and there is no question about it. We do not expect to see in anyone the marks of Christ's passion.
