Why Jesus Forbade Magdalene to Hold Onto Him – Apr 03 – Homily – Fr Alan
Views 2336
Fr Alan explains Our Lord's reason for not allowing Mary Magdalene to cling to Him: it is to strengthen her faith and deepen her understanding of the mystery of His Resurrection.
Much of this homily is based on Joe Heschmeyer's article: "Why Does Jesus Tell Mary Magdalene Not to Touch Him?" (https://shamelesspopery.com/noli-me-tangere/)

I’m a bit confused by Fr Alan’s statement that “…St Thomas…
QUOTES St John Chrysostom(??)…”
Who’s this St Thomas who lived after St. John Chrysostom?
Thank you for clarifying.
GDbless!
Ave Maria
This would be St.Thomas Aquinas, Doctor of the Church, who lived in the 1200s.
Friar Roderic
I know St Thomas Aquinas but
for a while there I thought there was another Thomas closer to the time of John Chrysostom because Fr Alan was talking about “Mary Magdala &
ST THOMAS” in one breath then jumps to a “THOMAS” (QUOTING CHRYSOSTOM).without the qualifier “Aquinas”.
