Citing St. Thomas Aquinas, who stated one drop of Christ's blood suffices to save infinite worlds, and St. Alphonsus, who noted Christ redeemed us with an "excess of His divine love," the homily stresses that God's mercy is not merely sufficient but boundless. This superabundance is our source of confidence during spiritual dryness and desolation. The evil one, as St. Ignatius observed, attempts to disquiet souls and foster distrust by distorting God's promises. However, the historical reality of Christ's passion and the shedding of His blood remain an undeniable fact. Meditating frequently on the passion softens hearts, leads to repentance, and inflames divine love. Beyond meditation, we are called to participate and come into contact with this redemptive work. Our Lady's apparitions at Guadalupe, Lourdes, and Fatima consistently request churches, signifying the perpetuation of Christ's sacrifice through the Blessed Sacrament and other sacraments. We are encouraged to draw with confidence from the Lord's infinite merits, knowing that no sin, wound, or challenge is beyond the cleansing, healing, and redeeming power of Jesus's Precious Blood.
