Live Faith with Burning Hearts – Apr 19 – Homily – Fr Maximilian

In his homily, Fr. Maximilian describes the Gospel story of two disciples walking to Emmaus on Easter day, sad about Jesus' death and not recognizing Him when He joins them. Jesus asks what they're discussing, then explains how the Old Testament, like Isaiah 53, predicted His suffering, death, and redemption. Their hearts burn as He speaks, and they finally recognize Him when He breaks bread, just like at the Last Supper, before He vanishes. Fr. Maximilian says Jesus now has a glorified, immortal body full of light that can pass through doors, like ours will be at the end of time. He challenges us: Do we live gratefully for this gift, with hearts on fire for Jesus truly present in the Eucharist, where we can visit Him anytime without an appointment?
