Fr Matthias gives the homily at Bloomington, IN, on Nov 29, 2022, Feast of All Saints of the Franciscan Order, on how the holiness of Franciscans consists in following the rule of St. Francis, He gives examples of Bl. Gabriele Allegra, Charles of Sezze, Padre Pio of Pietrelcina. This pathway to holiness is available to the laity through the Third Order. He points out how many of the popes have advocated the laity to join the third order. They provide many reasons to follow this path to holiness, which include a clearly laid out pathway, a time-tested way to virtue and holiness, countless models and intercessors, many living brothers and sisters in the Franciscan family, an official consecration to God, and the promise of life everlasting.
