Ave Maria Meditations
On the day of His Resurrection Our Lord showed Himself to His holy Mother, the holy women, His apostles too. He came forth from the sepulcher shining with glory and immortality. In this state was the beauty and the brightness which shown upon the holy Face of the triumphant Savior.
In spirit and with the eyes of faith, you yourself gaze at this adorable Face of the glory of the risen Jesus. What heavenly fire in His look! What serenity upon His Face!
What a smiling and majestic countenance! During His Passion we have seen the Face of Jesus bruised and desolate; in this moment joy gladdens Him, super abundant consolation in proportion to the sorrows suffered. O adorable Savior, it is right that today, victorious over death and sin, You should show Your Face radiant with strength and splendor, which allows You to rejoice in the consolations and the rays of glory and honor with which You are crowned. Go forth thus and reign over all hearts.
And we may ask: when shall I come to appear before the Face of my God? When shall I see Him face to Face? And we pray: may light of your Face shine upon me; save me in Your mercy Lord; I shall not be confounded because I have called upon You.
