Heart & Work of Judas – Apr 13 – Homily – Fr Terrance
Views 528
Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Apr 13, 2022, on the severity of the betrayal of Judas, yet Jesus knew that he would betray him, and in this, He teaches us that we, too, must put up with bad actors in the Church and not let our angry reaction cause division in the Church.
He quotes St Augustine in one of his letters regarding a scandal in his time where he lists the many bad actors in the otherwise good families in the Bible.
We need to be realistic regarding human nature
Jesus is a master who brings good out of evil.
God laughs at evil rebellion, He who sits in heaven laughs
God knows who will oppose him and knows how to make his plans happen regardless.
God permits evil to bring about his plans
Evil shows the goodness of the righteous and enables them to exercise mercy
We must bear with difficult people as Jesus did regarding Judas
Judases do not have the heart of Christ
Do not look for a Church made in our own image but in Christ's image
Be Christ-centered, not self-centered
Pray for the purification of the Church and pray for ourselves to stay loyal
Ave Maria!
