The Life of Bl. John of Parma, Confessor, First Order (1209-1289) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Mar 20. John was born in Parma, Italy, and was zealous for all the original rigors of the Franciscans, and due to his piety and competence was made Minster General of the order. He later stepped down and recommended St. Bonaventure who did succeed him.
