Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Mar 15, 2022, based on the first reading from Isaiah on how the many sins in our world point to the need for a teachable spirit that is based on goodwill and the desire to obey.

Notes:

Unrepentant sin is the greatest evil, unfixable after death.

Sins of Soddom: Pride, arrogance, gluttony, self-centered, unmerciful conduct, lust, ...

Today people think suffering is the greatest evil.

If we place sin as the greatest evil we will not only be friends with God but have less suffering as well.

Peace on earth is dependent on being obedient to God and war will undo all our wealth that we depend on for avoiding suffering

We must learn to listen

Need humility to listen and obey, to be docile.

This is all summarized in a teachable spirit. A wise man listens to advise.

If you are willing to obey then you will have a good life, if not we will see the sword.

Ask Our Lady for:

Grace to not fall prey to the seduction of those who are closed to the truth.

know when to speak, when to be silent

to not be wise in our own eyes.

To have a teachable spirit.

Ave Maria!
