Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Feb 15, 2022, on the 13th Mark of Charity, on how love leads to belief and trust in God and our neighbor, as he continues his series on the Marks of Charity based on 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love enables us to believe in what God says through His Church

Connected to faith, what we are to believe (head) and trust in (heart)

Faith in the head and heart leads to freedom

Belief and behavior have to go together to avoid hypocrisy, which is so prevalent today especially in politics

must pray most for priests who don't believe and thus damage the faith and trust of so many of the faithful

If you separate faith and reason then you lose both. Reason becomes subjectivism and rationalization for sin, faith becomes fideism or superstition

Chesterton, When you deny the supernatural we are left with only the unnatural

This does not mean believe everyone condoning sin and error

Love tends to see the good in others to think the best of them, open to others.

This attracts people to conversion
