The Life of S. God Juniper Vega & Humilis Martinez, Martyrs, First Order (m. 1928) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Feb 1. Fr Juniper and Humiliswere martyrs in Mexico in the persecution in their Civil War and were devoted to the Lord as Christ the King. The crime for their execution was saying mass.
Reflection is on secularism that denies a place for God in public life, essentially dethroning the King of Kings.
