The Life of St. Angela Merici, Virgin, Third Order (1474-1540) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Jan 27. St. Angela Merici was born in Italy near Lake Garda, she gave up her wealth and started the Ursuline order in Brescia to help the poor with instruction, food and medicine.
