The Life of St. Francis de Sales, Cordbearer of St. Francis (1567-1622) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Jan 24. St. Francis de Sales who was Bishop and missionary to Geneva, Switzerland, converting many recent Calvinists, Protestants back to Catholicism. He wrote many tracts for the purpose evangelization and founded the Visitation Nuns with St. Jane de Chantal, and was declared a Doctor of the Church.
