Queen and Mother of God – Jan 01 – Homily – Fr Terrance

 

Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Jan 01, 2022, Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, on how Mary is the glorious Queen of Israel and of all Christians and how her natural gifts are the foundation of her supernatural gifts ad reflects and points toward the glories of Christ.

Notes:

Mary's 5 Natural  glories  prerogatives point to the supernatural

1st Daughter of Joachim and Ann and of the Father

2nd Conceived without Sin

3rd Perpetual Virgin giving birth to Jesus miraculously, and spouse of the Holy Spirit,

4th Mary is a queen of heaven and Earth reigning at the right hand of her Son.

5th Mary is a unique mother of the Church because she is the Mother of God, Theotokos, God bearer and this points to the two natures of Christ.

Mary is the most perfect human person, keeping in mind that Jesus is not a human person but divine.

We should not shy away from speaking too highly of Mary, because Jesus has already given her more praise and  honor than we ever can.

Those who do shy away from praising Mary are ignorant of Scripture and the power and glory of God. And speaking much of Mary is to honor God all the more.

We honor Mary by Honoring Christ, by obeying the Commandments and imitating Mary and Christ. Imitating Mary's internal dispositions the more we become what God wants us to be. She is our Mother.
