The Life of Bl. Bartolo of San Gimignano, Confessor, Third Order (1228-1300) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Dec 17. Bartolo felt called to be a priest but his father protested, Jesus told him to be a Third Order Franciscan as a parish priest. Helped the poor with his income. Then got leprosy from which he died.

Reflection is on beholding Christ in the poor as amens of showing charity to Christ.
A way of giving back to Christ who otherwise does not need anything
To be made worthy of being with Christ by being like Him
