Fr Terrance gives the homily at Bloomington, IN on Dec 08, 2021, on how Mary is given the greatest grace of being conceived immaculately to fulfill a mission of the greatest importance, being the Mother God.

Notes:

Our mission has two faces

First: Everyone must do good works

Second: We must be holy, become like God.

These are not boring but full of blessings

God has a mission for us and has a high standard for us

We are predestined to become like Jesus.

However, Mary's mission is even higher, not to become holy but to be born Holy.

She started off holy and became even more holy.

Her work was to be the mother of Christ and the spiritual mother of us all, even Coredeemer

Scotus on the Immaculate Conception:

Adam transmits sin to all, Christ transmits grace

Mary is the exception but still due to the saving grace of Christ, so she too has a savior and in her case, this was her son and done as preservation from sin instead of redemption.

Mary among all women and all creation is the most full of grace and most indebted to God.

Let us thank God for such a great Mother for her purity and her pure love of God and us.

Ave Maria!
