The Life of St. Daniel and Companions, Martyrs, First Order (m. 1227) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Oct 10. St. Daniel was a Franciscan provincial of Calabria, Italy when he and six companions determined to go to preach to the Muslims in Africa. Upon starting to preach in Cueta in Morroco they were thrown into prison and despite many temptations of reward and torture remained steadfast in their faith and were martyred.
Reflection is on venerating the holy martyrs that hold a special place among the saints, imitating Christ most closely.
