The Life of S. of God Pius XII, Pope, Third Order (1876-1958) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Oct 9. Pius XII was born in Italy as Eugene Pacelli and became pope in 1939 where he worked to solve many of the world's problems and recommended the Third Order, interpreted the rule, and upheld St. Francis as an exemplary Christian.
Reflection is on the role of the Third Order in the World whose spirit of faith and poverty we need in our faithless, materialistic times.
