The Life of St. Marianne Cope, Virgin, Third Order (1838-1918) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Oct 8. St. Marianne Cope was a German-born immigrant to the United States and a member of the Sisters of St Francis of Syracuse, New York. She went with St. Damian of Molokai to take care of victims of leprosy in Hawaii.
