The Life of Ven. George of Augsburg, Confessor, First Order (1696-1762) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Oct 7. George was a baker who went to Rome to enter the Capuchin Franciscans where he grew in sanctity, taking good care of sick friars and the poor and begging for alms. He was given the gift of miracles.

Reflection is on patience in adversity.
