The Life of St. Louis IX, King, Confessor, Patron 3rd Order (1214 -1270) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Aug 25. St. Louis IX of France was raised by his pious mother Queen Blanche,
crowned at 12 years old, joined the third order when he was young, partook in 2 crusades, raised his children in piety, established programs for the poor. He died in 1270 on his 2nd crusade while taking care of plague victims. He is the patron saint of the Third Order Franciscans.

Reflection is on Avoiding mortal sin which is worse than death, death rather than freedom, state of grace more valuable than all.
