The Life of "Bl." Amadeus Menez, Confessor, First Order (1420-1482) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Aug 10. Amadeus Menez was born in Portugal and joined the Conventuals as a brother but then ordained a priest after much persuasion, and then was made the confessor of the Pope when his holiness and competence were recognized.
Reflection is on the great dignity of the priesthood. This is particularly seen by the saints, especially St. Francis and this is because the priest consecrates the host for mass and reconciles sinners to God through confession.
