The Life of St. Simon of Lypnica, Confessor, First Order (1437-1482) for the Franciscan Saint of the Day for Jul 30. St. Simon of Lypnica was inspired by a homily by St John of Capistrano to join the Franciscans. He became a great preacher himself and desired to go to the missions but found his calling when he was given high positions in the order and exemplified ardent pray, work and hope. He died helping plague victims.

Reflection is on listening to sermons. We should focus on the content and not the presentation, and to be able to put the message into practice and spread it to others, we need to ask God for grace for enlightenment and strength.
