John of Cetina was born in Spain and lived a worldly life until his conversion when he entered the Franciscans. He asked to go to preach to Muslims in Jerusalem but was sent to Morocco and chose Peter Duenas to come with him. Peter also grew up with court life, had little book learning, but very devout. After being caught by the Muslim king they were martyred for the faith.

Reflection is on the joys of heaven:
- In heaven, there will be no more sorrows and those of this world are short
- Can't pass life here without struggle but worth persevering
- Beatific vision seeing God in all His beauty is the chief joy of Heaven
