The life of St. Elizabeth, Queen of Portugal, Widow, Third Order (1271–1336) for the July 4th Franciscan Saint of the Day. St. Elizabeth was Queen of Portugal and used her wealth and influence to feed the poor and was frequently instrumental in making peace in her family and in her country.
