Faith: You Received It, To Keep It You Have to Re-Gift It – Jul 17 – Homily – Fr Matthias

 

On the memorial of St. Francis Solanus (Franciscan Priest, Missionary, Jul 17, 2019*), Fr. Matthias explains that the missionary serves to remind all the faithful of one of our responsibilities that come with the gift of faith: what we have received, through the ministry of somebody, we are called to also give, in ministry to others. Salvation is not only a personal matter, but an shared duty; this is the point of the "New Evangelization,"summed up in the Christian motto, “One for all, and all for one,” made famous by Alexandre Dumas in his novel, The Three Musketeers.
