Msgr. Arthur B. Calkins gives the second talk titled "A Theological Defense of Coredemptrix and Coredemption in light of Current Objections" at the Marian Coredemption symposium at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, WI in 2018 on how to answer the many objections made to the a dogmatic declaration of Mary as Coredemptrix. He covers ecumenical concerns, objections raised in the Czestochowa Declaration. He mentions the many times the word has been used by popes and saints and is taught in the documents in Vatican II such as Lumen Gentium 56 and 57 without using the word.

This two day Marian Symposium was called "Mary Coredemptrix: Relevance and Remedy for Our Time" and was held at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe, La Crosse, WI, October 12-13, 2018 on how Mary is the the Co-redeemer with Christ in that, although the redemption fully depended on Christ, Mary played a unique role.
