Dominic, Friend of Francis, Champion of the Rosary – Aug 08 – Homily – Fr Maximilian W

 

On the Feast of St. Dominic (Aug 08), Fr. Maximilian explains the great reverence of Franciscans for St. Dominic: he was a friend of St. Francis, a brother founder of a mendicant order; St. Dominic founded the Order of Preachers to fight heresy through able preaching, and was assisted by Our Lady, who gave him the spiritual “weapon" of the Holy Rosary, by which he (and the Church ever since) have been able to obtain victory over every threat to the Faith.

The world still needs Our Lady's help, and she urged us at Fatima to ask it through the daily prayer of the Rosary.
