In the homily for the memorial of St. Benedict, Abbot (Jul 11) , Fr. Maximilian offers some highlights on the life and spirituality of St. Benedict, "Father of Western Monasticism," and Co-Patron of Europe, whose spirituality has been condensed into the motto "Ora et Labora -- Pray and Work." This phrase might be taken as a general formula for a holy, Christian life, in other words: put God at the center and serve Him accordingly.
