Station VI: Veronica wipes the face of Jesus
Veronica’s love and compassion for this tortured soul moved her to step forward to wipe Jesus’ bloody face without any thought to her own safety and well being. She didn’t wait for someone else to step out of their comfort zone, but said “yes” to God’s call in the moment given her. In return, God gave her the courage to claim her love for Jesus even with the angry crowd all around her.
O Jesus, I have no courage, and lack trust and humility. Let me fear nothing else but the loss of Your friendship. Like Veronica, let me be the one today to console Your heart and satiate Your thirst for souls.
After each Station, pray “Jesus, Son of the living God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to Thee”
