Nov 06 – Homily – Fr Angelo: Hope is not Optimism

Views 1733

The liturgy today reflects on the Resurrection. In the first reading, a mother with 7 sons, spiritually representing the fullness of life, has her sons taken one by one as they prefer the promises of God over the threats and promises of the king. Hope is  a gift from God, and it is not about "optimism" but about eternal life, allowing us to trust in His promises and rest in the fact that, whatever happens, God is in charge and everything works out to the benefit of those who love him.
