Oct 23 – Homily – Fr Ignatius: Let Our Prayers be Heard

Views 1255

Fr. Ignatius looks toward the readings today on the dispositions needed for God to hear our prayers. He focuses the groaning of the soul that St. Padre Pio says makes our prayers more powerful than those who are already in heaven. He adds to this the need to be just in the sight of God, willing to serve Him exemplified by St. Paul. Third we need to be humble in the sight of God as exemplified by the tax collector in the Gospel. From this he encourages us to take courage to persevere in prayer because our heaviness of heart and humiliations only add to the power of our prayers.
