Solidarity, do we practice it? In the world, the rich are known, but the poor are anonymous, name-less. Fr. John Joseph remarks that in the Parable of Lazarus and the Rich Man, the tables are turned. We know the name of Lazarus, but the rich man is nameless. Do we follow the example of the world or of God? Father encourages us to wake up to the poor in our midst and give them, not money, but dignity. A suggestion: If you regularly pass a homeless person, learn their name and use it; you may be the only one that does.
