The Gospel episode of Jesus asleep in the boat as the storm rages and the apostles panic is emblematic of our weak faith and very human response to apparent doom. Yet Our Lord manifested in every possible way His complete authority over all creation, in performing many miracles, expelling demons, and ultimately rising from death. We have no reason to doubt him, we only lack faith. As the Apostles urged Our Lord to help in the crisis of the storm, we too should confidently implore His powerful intervention, knowing His power and trusting His perfect love.
