Ave Maria!

During the First Saturday devotion by the Marian Catechists at the shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe Fr. Peter explains how Pope St. John Paul II’s encyclical Redemptoris Mater (Mother of the Redeemer) gives a complete synopsis of mariology and how Our Lady is the only adequate way to be introduced into the reality of the Trinity and the connection between the head, Jesus, and the rest of the mystical body of Christ, the Church. We do not know Christ until we see Mary as the Mother of God (Council of Ephesus). He then relates this to Mary’s spiritual motherhood of all Christians and thus the means for unity in the family of God.
