Homily #150402b ( 18min) Play - On the celebration of the Mass of the Lord's Supper, which is considered the first Mass and the institution of the Blessed Sacrament, Fr. Elias explains the nature of the holy Sacrifice in Mass, giving four reason for going to Mass:

  1. Adoration of God

  2. Thanksgiving for graces received

  3. Ask God for more graces and blessings

  4. Reparation for sins committed


He then outlines four effect of receiving communion

  1. Closer union with God

  2. Increase in sanctifying grace

  3. Preservation from mortal sin and remission of venial sins

  4. Lessening the inclination to sin and inclining us to do good works
