Alan focuses on the flip-flop of the sentiment of the crowds who welcomed Our Lord with glorious exaltation as a saving king only to turn on Him by the end of the week with even His own disciples leaving him. He relates this to our own journey with Christ and how we must be vigilant and disciplined in our devotions, especially reflecting on the sufferings of Christ for our sake, and in this way avoid our own flip-flops.
