Apr 27 – Homily – Fr Maximilian W: Way and Means of Mercy

Views 1069

Homily #140427n ( 10min) Play - Father Maximilian presents two points for our consideration this Divine Mercy Sunday. The first is that today is the day Jesus appeared to the apostles, and instituted the Sacrament of Penance, which is the sacrament of Mercy. The second is the "Happy Fault" of St. Thomas' disbelief. Our Lord allowed this in order to give the apostles and us greater proof of the Resurrection, and He pronounces a blessing over those who have not seen, but believe. Finally, Father encourages us to "Be Not Afraid" and to live out our Catholic faith fully, and one of the best ways we can do this is to make frequent use of the sacrament of Penance, especially on this day dedicated to Divine Mercy.
