Homily #140302n (10min) Play - Father tells us the words of today's Gospel, "You cannot serve both God and Mammon" are a rebuke to our tendency to turn our backs on God and focus on the goods of this world. Father asks us, "Have we been faithful to God" in our use of the worldly good we have been entrusted with by God, or have we turned towards them, and away from their Maker, the Author of all that is good. Finally, Father reminds us that there is only heaven or hell, and they are both eternal. He recommends us to meditate on the saying which profoundly impacted St. Teresa of Avila, "Heaven--Forever; Hell--Never," that is, In Heaven we will be with the author of all created good forever, but we will never experience anything good in hell.
