Ave Maria!

For our Conference on Spiritual Battle of Our Time, Fr. Casey gives the second talk titled "The Devil: Liar and Murderer" covering the subject of the Devil and how he likes to spread the idea that he does not exist. Even some theologians do not believe in the Devil.  Father explains what the Church teaches about the Devil, his pride, disobedience, and his preferred tactics of lying and tempting to lead us away from God. Modern times are dominated by the Devil and it is important to know his tactics, to know our enemy. He focuses on priests and bishops, "Strike the shepherd, scatter the sheep." how occult and Demonic practice are increasing and how the Devil uses the tactic of divide and conquer.

How is it possible for some theologians not to believe in the devil when the evil one is mentioned in the Bible?

  • Alex Benedictus says:

Unfortunately there are many theologians who don’t believe in the existence of the devil. Specially in the countries of the Southern hemisphere, where the Liberation Theology (Teologia da Libertação; this false theology is a kind of marxism ideology) is very very strong, there is a huge tendency and even a believe that the diabolical phenomenons are products of ill minds or mental illness. I would recomend the books of Fr. Gabriele Amorth (Padre Gabriele Amorth is a italian priest who have written many books about exorcisms), practically the most expirent exorcist of the current days!

  • Luv'n Life says:

How do these individuals explain away our Lord’s teaching about hell and the devil? Or do these ‘theologians’ even trust in the Bible?

I have heard of this Italian priest, and of his work. I was recently introduced to ‘prayer of deliverance’. A bit like an exorcism, but to a much lesser degree. The end results are the same: freedom from bondage of the evil one!

    Thanks for the above information.

  • Alex Benedictus says:

    Thank you!

There are many ways of denying the existence of the devil and of the hell. Perhaps the most commons are psychological interpretations and throught historicists interpretations of the Bible. The devil and the fallen angels would be mythological creature, product of the imagination of the ancien peoples or figure of language that mean actually natural tendencies of the human being to the good and to the evil.

So the diabolical disorders, for these racionalist and skeptical theologians, are nothing except metal illness.

The theologians who follow the Liberation theology deny supernatural phenomena because they are materialists. About the fake theology you can see

A very interesting interview with Father Gabriele Amorth

    http://www.boston-catholic-journal.com/an-interview-with-father-gabriele-amorth-the-church%27s-leading-exorcist.htm

I would like to quote this paragraph:

Father Amorth smiles continually as he tells his story. His enthusiasm for his subject is infectious and engaging. “Jesus performed exorcisms. He cast out demons. He freed souls from demonic possession and from Him the Church has received the power and office of exorcism. A simple exorcism is performed at every baptism, but major exorcism can be performed only by a priest licensed by the bishop. I have performed over 50,000 exorcisms. Sometimes it takes a few minutes, sometimes many hours. It is hard work multo duro.”

  • James says:

“The doctrines, the moral teachings of the Church have never changed.”

This is so very true! But one of the biggest problems we face today is, as Father Casey so clearly pointed out at the very beginning of his talk, we simply do not hear them on Sunday at the Mass from our priests who have the duty to teach us these truths.

In fact, in many cases, they have tacitly accepted the spirit of the world, the flesh and the devil, concerning many moral issues that the one true Church stands against and the devil promotes.

When I talk to more than just one priest in our diocese, seeking help and guidance concerning the evil of divorce that has come upon our family, I am told that I need to “forgive” and that I “have a problem with being able to let go.” What I don’t say to them, not wishing to continue with such foolishness, is that they are absolutely correct, I really do have a problem letting go…. letting go of the Truth! And that I will never ever let go of the Truth as long as God grants me the grace to receive thatTruth.

And when I do not encourage any further conversation with them, they tell me I am “proud”. These are our parish and diocesan priests! Now where am I to go in this bizarre upside-down diocese (and the problem is not only in this diocese but throughout the nation, as Father Casey points out) to receive the Sacrament of Confession?! Who can trust these lovers of the world, flesh and devil to bind up the wounds, to heal with the Truth and forgiveness in the Sacrament of Confession?

So I pray and pray, but I must pray more. I sneak into Masses in order to receive the Blessed Sacrament from priests that do not teach or truly love the Truth. They beat the drum of the world, over and over again, while professing to love God. Please pray for our family, for our children, and for the triumph of Mary’s Immaculate Heart and the Truth of her Divine Son to penetrate our lives in spite of the infiltration and infestation of the devil’s designs upon the church and upon my family.

Jesus I trust in you. August Queen of the Heavens, heavenly sovereign of the angels, I turn to you in this time of evil. Obtain for us deliverance from the evil and immoral snares of the devil. And crush the head of Satan, I humbly beseech thee. For the good and the salvation of your little children who have been consecrated to your Immaculate Heart. Immaculate Heart of Mary, I place my trust in you.

Oh yes, Father Casey, I am well aware of the spiritual battle we are facing every day. It is thick in the streets of this diocese, spiritually violent within our parishes, filled with the love of divorce, the lies of proud sophists, hate, oppressions, and lusts. It is fueled each moment by Satan’s seduction and his hatred of purity, poverty, and humility. And I have children and a spouse whose souls I am charged with leading into Heaven. But the love of the world, the flesh, and the devil is so prominent in the hearts and minds of clergy and laity alike in this area, that we not only are not taught the Truth here, but we are hated and mocked and isolated if we dare to stand against those proud, mocking, lovers of worldly praise and pleasures.

And I am “proud” and “have trouble letting go.”

Teach and preach about what the culture of divorce, which fuels the culture of death, is doing to our children and our world. Tell us why we are instructed to just “let go” of the Truth. Why we are encouraged to practice a false forgiveness. A false gospel. And maintain a false, superficial understanding of His plan of salvation.

And shall we try to explain it all to God, when asked about the souls of the children that were gravely harmed and torn to pieces by the selfish, proud, foolishness that we have embraced and desired even at the cost of their souls. God help us all, and cleanse your Church, dear Lord, of these malicious and vicious, lovers of vice and worldly pride.

And we complain bitterly when the world and its evil media claim the church is full of hypocrites. In their demon-driven ignorance, they have pointed out to us the source of many of the evils that are smothering the world now. ………… Divorce. Divide and conquer. That is always, indeed, the plan of Satan. And when Satan sits speaking and teaching through the ones who are to be there for us in persona Christi, the world is truly is great and immediate danger. From the left, the right, and the middle. All have been infected with the pride of Satan. The seduction and lies and pride of Satan.

Dear Friars, I had said an inaccuracy in my last comment to this post. I just would to share a prayer for deliverance in English and I put the link of Portuguese prayers. Now the right link:
