Fr. Ignatius, Excellent homily. However, can you clarify something you said. Pertaining to what you said about helping a brother in need…. are we called to give of our worldly goods to a brother or sister in need whom we know will only squander what is given to them, or use what we give them to the glory of the world, satan and/or the occult? Should I give a homeless man money who is standing on the street corner smoking cigarettes knowing full well that he will use what I’ve given to him to purchase more cigarettes?
I have always struggled with drawing the line in such instances and I believe that clarification would be helpful to your listeners and viewers.
