Homily #130308b ( 10min) Play - Fr. Joseph Esper from the Diocese of Detroit gives the homily during his day of reflection at the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center, titled "The Gates of Hell Shall not Prevail: The Church and the Anti-Christ." Starting with a reference to a company that makes valuable things by restoring wood from broken wooden palettes, Fr. Esper preaches on how the Gospel's theme of restoration applies to our decadent modern culture. This decadence is so bad that from a natural point of view it is hopeless, but from a supernatural point of view we should rather rejoice, knowing the power of God. Key to bringing about this restoration is to realize that all our blessings come form God and we should stop worshiping the works of our hands which is really just worshiping ourselves. We must humble ourselves and look to God and we will once again be blessed.
