Ave Maria!

In the messages of Our Lady of Fatima there are three parts; the request, the warning, and the promise.

  • Rachel says:

There is nothing secret about the secrets when Our Lady reveals them to her children and She has been doing precisely that for almost 100 years because the Church simply wouldn’t listen to what She had to say. How many times has She appeared to Her beloved little ones since Fatima with the same message. So sad. How Our Lady weeps! Not only for the aborted souls of babies, but for the aborted souls of would be Catholics. She can’t co-redeem that which is never given over to life, now can She? Did she not say that the road to hell was lined with the souls of priests. Oh how we must pray for our priests! Mea Culpa that I don’t do enough penance for our priests.

    Rachel,

I don’t remember Our Lady saying in the message at Fatima that ‘the road to hell was lined with the souls of priests’. Certainly there are priests there, but ‘lined’!? I do recall the Holy Virgin saying that ‘many souls go to hell because there is no one to pray and do penance for them, (ie. their conversion).
Let’s not get the meaning of redemption, and free will mixed up. Every man, woman, and child has been redeemed once and for all; the gates of heaven were opened by Christ, and with the sufferings of His perfect Mother. God gave us free will to chose good, or evil. Not everyone choses the good.
The ‘not listening’ has been going on a lot longer than 100 years. The deafness/disobedience to the Word started with Adam and Eve!
I think Father Peter did an excellent job in explaining the three parts of the Fatima Message. He conveyed the message with great clarity and simplicity. And to watch his face beam as he spoke of the Holy Virgin was inspiring. He drips love and joy for the Madonna as if it were holy water!
You are most correct in saying we need to be more fervent in our prayers for the shepherds of the Church. But if we don’t pray for the rest of the Mystical Body (to hear the shepherds) we will have fallen short in understanding the message at Fatima.

May Our Lady of Fatima soften the hearts of mankind with Her graces so that we hear and do as She wishes; which is the message of a Good and Loving God.

    Ave Maria!
