Thank you for the history on St Lawrence, Father. 🙂
When I think about this saint I think about the 2nd Glorious Mystery ~ The Ascension of Christ ~ detachment from all worldly things, tangible and intangible.
It must have been difficult, very difficult, (in human terms), for Him to leave His friends, and most especially His Holy Mother, for love of God the Father. It must have been equally painful, (I’m thinking in human terms now) for the Holy Virgin, and the apostles (who lacked the perfect faith the Mother possesed) to see Jesus ascend into heaven and leave them.
How does anyone know when they really love God the Father more than their neighbor? So much food for thought when we read about the great saints of the Church.
May we all have the living faith of Our Holy Mother!
St Lawrence, pray for us!
